Dr. Darren White and I begin our conversation by covering the basics — what do employers have to do with health care. So if you’re new to this, you’ll have an opportunity to catch up. From there we discuss the ways employers are attempting to control spiraling health care costs and raise poor outcomes that might be resulting from all that spend. We talk about where traditional programs go wrong. We talk about the growing tension between employer on-site clinics that actually compete against local provider organizations and actively strive for network leakage, for example. And then Dr. White offers up some advice on what an employer really needs to do to do health care right.

Dr. Darren White is Chief Executive Officer and founder of Aduro, Inc., a human performance company, launched in 2007. With more than 15 years of expertise Dr. White’s vision is to deliver habit change programs that empower people and organizations to reach their full potential. Together with his wife Dr. Toni Best, Dr. White brings a unique outlook to the health care sector, combining their experience in the health care industry, integrating human analytics and personalized well-being. Under Dr. White’s leadership and vision, Aduro has led over 165 high growth companies to reach a demonstrated return on population health, resulting in over 1 million happier, healthier and higher-performing employees.

In addition, he was on the founding team of the Diplomate for Upper Cervical Care, an advanced chiropractic program.
